Balpreet S. Khatra Joins Burns Fitzpatrick as an Articling Student

We’re pleased to welcome our new articling student, Balpreet Singh Khatra, to the firm!

Balpreet completed his law degree at the University of Birmingham (UK) and obtained a Masters of Law from the University of British Columbia.  He also has a business degree from the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University. He is fluent in Punjabi.

Balpreet developed a passion for advocacy by participating in moot competitions and legal debates in law school. He is proud to have competed at the Inter-Varsity Moot at The Honourable Society of the Inner Temple in London, England. He was also awarded lead speaker for the winning team of the Birmingham Law Society Legal Debating Competition.

Prior to joining Burns Fitzpatrick, Balpreet also obtained practical legal experience by completing an internship (mini-pupilage) with one of the largest barrister’s chambers in England, and by volunteering as a pro-bono legal clinician with the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program (LSLAP) at UBC. Balpreet has already represented individuals during criminal, civil and administrative proceedings.

We are excited to have him join our team and are confident that he will be an asset to the firm. Welcome, Balpreet!
