Darrell E. Burns is a named partner at Burns Fitzpatrick, specializing in complex litigation. Darrell has conducted trials at all levels of court in British Columbia.

Darrell’s remarkable attention to detail and his wealth of knowledge in all practice areas — stemming in part from his role as Editor in Chief of the British Columbia Law Reports — has earned him a reputation for consistently obtaining successful outcomes and large awards on behalf of his clients.

He assists clients on all areas of family law, focusing particularly on complex financial issues relating to relationship breakdown. He advises clients in all matters relating to family law disputes, including custody and access, parental alienation, addictions, family violence, determination of spousal or child support under the Guidelines, family trusts and valuation and division of family assets. Darrell has a high success rate at mediation and expertise drafting cohabitation agreements, marriage agreements, and separation agreements.

Darrell also has expertise advising clients with personal injury claims, including spinal cord or head injuries, fibromyalgia, chronic pain and soft tissue injuries.
