Neal Kansy’s practice includes business law, corporate and commercial transactions, real estate transactions and civil litigation, among other areas of expertise. Neal represents a broad variety of clients including individuals, small and medium businesses, and large organizations.
Neal has acted for a variety of businesses from small start-ups to large mature enterprises, including large real estate, asset and share sale transactions and acting for a major Canadian chartered bank in commercial mortgage transactions. He has acted for clients in individual transactions and disputes and as ongoing “on call” corporate counsel for whatever needs may arise. Neal has appeared before the Supreme Court of British Columbia and prepared submissions for the British Columbia Court of Appeal.
With experience both as a solicitor and a litigator, Neal’s primary concern is helping you try to prevent or resolve disputes as efficiently as possible, whether you’re an individual or a business. Some of the areas Neal may be able to assist you with include commercial transactions, dispute resolution, incorporating and maintaining your company, selling or purchasing a business or assets, and working as a team with your accountants and financial advisors to implement corporate reorganization, succession plans and most of your real estate needs.
Neal studied at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law, where he was awarded the Arthur Close, Q.C. Prize in Advanced Legal Research, McLean-McCuaig Foundation Prize in Property Law and the Advocis Educational Foundation Prize in Contract Law. Neal has been helping Burns Fitzpatrick’s clients since 2010.
