Yulin Shih joined Burns Fitzpatrick as an associate in 2020 after completing his articles at a full-services law firm in downtown Vancouver. Yulin practices in the areas of business and corporate law, real estate, and wills and estates. Yulin assists corporate clients in all aspects of their operations from incorporation, day-to-day operations, and sale and acquisition of businesses. He assists clients with commercial and residential real estate transactions, commercial mortgages, and compliance with provincial real estate legislation including the Land Owner Transparency Act.

Yulin adopts a collaborative approach to the practice of law and routinely works with senior counsel in order to find cost-effective and practical solutions for clients. Yulin uses his prior litigation experience to understand the important factors in relation to a potential dispute and advise clients generally before disputes arise.

Yulin obtained his law degree at the University of Calgary in 2018. During law school, Yulin was a Co-President of the Diversity and Law Society (DLS) and a Student Director of The Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers Western chapter.

Prior to law school, Yulin studied Political Science at the University of British Columbia and worked as a Constituency Assistant for a Member of the Legislative Assembly. Yulin is fluent in Mandarin.
