Burns Fitzpatrick is a mid-sized firm located in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Comprised of a variety of lawyers from different backgrounds, it serves a broad constituency of clients across British Columbia with effective, practical, and results-based legal services.

The firm was founded in 1985 as Liddle Burns Beechinor & Baker. In the late 1980’s, it merged with Ames & Company to form Liddle Burns & Ames, at which point Stephen Schwartz joined the firm. In 1990, Dennis Fitzpatrick and John Rogers (now retired) joined the firm. Les Ames withdrew in the mid 1990’s and the firm name changed to Liddle Burns Beechinor Fitzpatrick. Keith Liddle retired shortly thereafter and the firm name changed to Burns Fitzpatrick Rogers & Schwartz.

In 2005, Scott Turner joined the firm and the name subsequently changed to Burns Fitzpatrick Rogers Schwartz & Turner. John Rogers retired at the end of 2013 and Oliver Wilson became a partner in early 2014. The firm name changed to the name we have today – Burns Fitzpatrick LLP.
